Hello everyone !

I'm totally new on this forum. I recently get a turkish oud and it's a beautiful instrument. I've just post a video of me playing oud. I hope you'll like it :

Hopa! That sounds very fine and very old, with some Rebetiko accent. Very nice, thanks.
I'll try to play it.

TURKISH??? Hey, boy, whatcha strokin' that oud with? ( hard to see). Well, we here be into contemplative Sufi taqsim in obscure maqamat, practiced on expensive ouds crafted from prime Nubian ebony and the spruce from Howard Hughes' first airplane, but we'll let you whack that woodie out in the courtyard for the peasants to dance to ;-)

Way cool!

It is Zeybek music. Zeybeks were the most higher cast of Turkish warriors. They had a huge appearance and a weird uniform. They used to wear a lot of weapons around their belt and most often a little 'Baglama' (short bouzouki).
Their dancing skill was highly and rightly praised.
You still have more to learn from peasants my friend.
