The oud is a beauty, even-though I couldn't hear the sound . Pls. upload the clip here or put it on youtube, since some don't have a facebook account
for their own reasons.
I think the date indicates when the photo was taken, not when the oud was made !
As much as I know, & I know very little about Abdo's, Abdo didn't make such ouds back in 1900 . I'd dare to say it is most likely from the late
20's - early 30's of the last century ! What do you think ?
As to the price it's recommended that Veysel sets the last price he'd let the oud for. It's known that some members here do talk & are not totally
strangers, so they do know about the price Veysel has asked for in u2u private messages. The price range was X up to 2X , and this is not acceptable
at all .
Excuse me Veysel
Yours indeed

I analyzed MANY Nahat ouds and I can guarantee you this is NOT a 1900. This label is preprinted with the 1900 date as were all the Abdo George labels.
It's still a beautiful oud, but don't go by that date. This is a 1920s oud at most a late 1910s.

Dear Veysel,
I can read very well, and I have read DOZENS of Nahat labels, and spent years of my life studying the Arabic Ouds, especially the Nahats.
And ALL Abdo labels have a PRE-PRINTED date of 1900 under the picture, which does NOT mean that the oud was made that year.
The date of manufacture is ALWAYS written by hand. I can post several pictures of Abdo Labels to prove what I am saying.
Furthermore, anybody who knows anything about Abdo Ouds, knows that in 1900 Abdo was making ouds together with Roufan, under the Ikhwan label, not his
own.
The date of manufacture is ALWAYS written by hand.
I totally agree with spyros !
This (quote) puts this specific label under doubt : NOTHING is written by hand on the label, neither a date nor a serial number ! So
what is this ?
The first cliche of the famous label of uncle Abdo has been made out of stone in France and was used to print the label after the year 1910 (+ -) when
Ikhwan Nahat , Nahat brothers' branched into Rofan and Abdo . Later on another one has been made which had "A.N. & sons" on it & was used till
1935, maximum 1938, the year Abdo was believed to migrate to Sau Paulo, Brazil. (Has anyone heard or seen later Abdo's ? I have not) !
Each one of the stickers beared the Year & Serial No. in handwriting. So if a label does not have such features, it's mostly a fake. Who did this
forgery ? I'm quite sure it's not veyselmaster, nor his dad &/or firm. This should have been carried out elsewhere !!
& Spyeos dear : Please post all of Abdo's labels you've got. It's very interesting to make some comparison of manuscripts & maybe bit
graphology ! This is my second hobey (the first is my work) .....
