HI,
Is it just me or does this oud sound different? http://vimeo.com/2923404
I actually like the sound a lot it sounds refreshing. How would I be able to make my oud sound like this?

You could start by paying out of tune?:D

It's a floating bridge oud, that might be the sound you're thinking of . . .

Its recorded in a studio and the sound was cleaned up quite a bit.

Yes

I'm sure your oud could sound like that if you put your head inside the bowl. No?

Unnatural equalization.

There is some sound processing in it, and it was recorded with a Beyerdynamic ribbon microphone (as far as I can se in the video) This is a very fast mic, very suitable for oud and guitar and gives, like all well made ribbons, a very silky sound.

best wishes
Robert
