Thats the first recording ive done with my oud. William's recording is much better, as he is more skilled than I am. But I will learn more soon!

Haunting Bass

The bass on my Oud, to me is kinda a haunting bass sound. The low C# string that is. Since there are no rosettes on my Oud, (not debating wether or not this is true) it sounds more resonant.

We all got to start at some point keep ouding.

Is your oud electrified or did you use a mic? If I had to guess from the recording I would say it is electrified since the strings sound kind of bare (not much wood in the sound.)

Well, I used a not so good Radioshack recording mic. and at the time I two of my strings were kinda of jacked up. (the main strings used in that recording.) They have since been replaced with better strings. Those two things might contrubute to the "bare" sound.
