Hi, I am considering the purchase of this used oud made by an iraqi luthier named Muhathab Botrus for $500 and I was wondering if anyone has heard
about him or owns a oud made by him, is it a good price? I am unable to get my hands on a sound sample. Thank you in advance, I am really enjoying
this forum
The oud is fully made of Indian rosewood according to seller :

Not familiar with him, but it looks like good work. I'd say it's probably worth at least $500.

"Mohathab Botrus Yousef" Is an outstanding Iraqi luthier . Nothing much is actually known about him, but his son "Saif "seems to be
following his dad's steps. Once he published his mail on Zeryab Forum : saif_barwti@yahoo.com. where you may try to reach him through !
This particular oud has been offered via Zeryab for 3000 SAR (Saudi Real) (800 $), so 500 $ sounds very fair price.
