For some reason, I'm enable to get a good take of this, but it's getting there.

In the meanwhile, I'd appreciate all feedback on this piece.

Thanks,
Hamid

Hello Hamid- first thing I'd suggest is change your forum mood listing from 'beginner's frustration..'
You are well past the beginner's stage my friend, and your playing on 'Going Home' is really good. I like the intro, it pulls the listener in from the very start.
Your tremelo on the lower strings is excellent, really clean and crisp.
I don't know if you plan to add other musicians/instruments to this composition, but from about 1:30 into the song I can hear some percussion coming in and joining you- it could really sound cool. At about 5:15, I can hear a violin joining you on the melody. thanks for sharing your compostion,:applause: all the best with it- MW

Thanks Hatem. What a treat. Three actually. ;-)

Thanks, Matthew! :-)

Every time I think of changing that mood, I keep telling myself that there's still much to do. I was trying to explain this to a friend of mine the other day. I told him when in the middle of your agony and frustration you ask the oud "Give me more!", it echoes back but it's own voice, ever seductively "Give me more". :-)

I like your suggestion, especially that violin thing towards the middle of the piece. I think I ought to try playing with others at some time.

I would have to admit, however, that I'm still having hard time getting rid of the of the buzzing when I play.

There's also the sound of the pick that, at times, over takes the sounds of the strings themselves. Could be an attack issue?

Here's another version. In video. :-)

very nice, very nice indeed. I agree with Matthew's suggestions. I like how you paced yourself, very little rushing. That is something I have a problem with, I know how hard it is.

keving: you're too kind. if anything, the oud teaches to be extremely patient. when you get to do what you want to do, the reward is immense.

fadel: thanks man. I still haven't go the answer back on the video set up. I'll forward the answer to you as soon as I get it.
