These are unbelievably expensive:

Why?

The Pyramid lute strings are really nice, but they don't share the secret.
They are expensive, but not usually that high. The Euro is kind of high right now, which may have something to do with it.

I believe a set should be around US$50-60, last time I checked.

Jack,

The last time I purchased Pyramid lute strings (direct from Germany) was back in 2005. At that time, each set cost me 36,20 Euro. Two sets, including packaging and postage to Australia cost me 80,65. I found that the (wound) 2nd course strings fractured and broke very easily. But they were very light gauge (Pyramid 906).

Regards,

Greg

Hello,

this price must be an error.
Have a look into my shop at
http://music-strings.de/index.php?k=130&lang=eng
in this catagory there you will find a lot of sets with these strings for different tunings and string length. The prices there do include the german taxes ( 19% ) but if you log in you can see the export prices.

These strings are absolutely excellent! I prefer them to use on my instruments as this do most of the professional players.
I'm able to ship them all around the world within a very short time.
If you have any question and need help, please contact me through my shop contact form.

All the best

Matthias

Contact Pyramid directly, a set of premium is 50-60 USD including shipping to America. And you'll be able to choose the exact tension you wish for you instrument.

My prepared sets are only proposuals. Individual sets and strings are always possible to order. And through my shop it is easy to order, the price is the same and the possibility of credit card payment is offered too.

Matthias is an excellent person to deal with, and he has calculated sets for nearly any configuration one could wish.

I suppose that we are now competitors, so I shouldn't promote him :D
But I have to honestly say that he does an excellent job and is very helpful.

Yes that's 80+ euros so over double compared to ordering directly from Pyramid. Ordering directly from Pyramid is what I've been doing from Berlin, Germany for the past 3 years.
