Need help identifying this Vintage OUD

ibn natan - 8-29-2011 at 02:36 PM

These are photos of an oud that has been in the family for many years. There are two stickers inside the oud. One Ed Berberian 2/24/79- this was a repair. Possibly the soundboard. The second is in arabic 124 Amity St 11-15-56. probably another repair. There is another sticker underneath the arabic one but it cannot be read so I am not able to identify this oud. By its shape it seems to date back passed 1956 but I cannot positively identify this piece. Please help ibn natan.
I apologize for the low quality photos , I hope to update this with better shots.

Beautiful piece. Love the high detailed roses and the small inlays surrounding the ouds soundboard.
Hopefully somebody can tell you more about it, good luck!

Please show us the whole front, and try to take a flash picture inside the rose so we can see the label.

Nice looking oud ibn natan. The 'fret' inlays on the fingerboard are interesting. Can you tell us where the oud was made, the string length and length of the fingerboard (from front of nut to neck joint)? Thanks.
