My Iraqi Oud repaired by Sabbassi

alan_mardan - 3-24-2012 at 02:39 PM

Hi All,

I would like to share some pics of my Iraqi Oud that was purchased from a Luthier in Basra. Unfortunately, the oud was not wrapped carefully, and in result, i received it with lots of cracks and dents. Additionally, the finishing looked very bad.

Thanks to this lovely forum, i managed to get in touch with Sabbassi after many years of research about luthiers, and finally decided to leave it in his hands.

I owe Sabbassi gratefulness for his fantastic effort to satisfy my requisites and detailed specifications. In result, i received a beautiful instrument last summer that i had wished for long time.

hope you Enjoy the pics

Kind Regards
Alan

Hi Fayyazi,

Well my friend :D, since 1998 the oud circle is expanding in Manchester
we now have lots of professionals and new comers and the first UK oud gathering was launched in 2007 and kick start was from Manchester, if you search the forum you'll find some info and pictures
