rythms electronic device

suz_i_dil - 6-1-2012 at 09:13 AM

Hello,

do you have any advice for an electronic device for rythms ?

I'm looking for something to create orientals rythms, like samai, for practicing and composing.

Thanks for your help

Are you Mac or PC based?

Our band does ethnic fusion working with traditional string and percussion instruments. But when I am writing I use Logic and sample drums that come with the software and also some third party samples in Kontakt. These are really amazing if you are composing. But probably a bit expensive if you are just looking for practice tracks.

Wizoo's percussion program "darbuka" is full of great rhythms and features, yet at the initial plug and play level it's also the easiest to use.

Wizoo Darbuka only works with windows xp and on Macs only on G4 and G5 processors IntelMacs are not supported

i myself use it on my old G4 Powerbook and bounce the tracks...

Hadeeth 2 from Big Fish Audio sounds like Wizoo Darbuka
and it is not so expensive.

Best regards

...and there are some mistakes in Wizoo Darbuka
in the editor of the program the samai thakil is categorized as 4/4 beat instead of 10/8 and Masmudi Kabir they categorized as 4/4
in stead of 8/4...

Best wishes

There's also Percussion Studio. You can program simple or complex rhythms and loop them.

Out of how many total rhythms? It's clearly still very useful. For free there are simple ones like Darbukator Lite.

And some other free plug-ins here
