The Huseyni (Housaini) is really interesting and very nice - I'm used to hearing this in a more Turkish/Armenian style.
Thanks for posting

Hi Leon
I'm not sure where I read it, but I'm think Aleppo is pretty close "maqamically" to Turkey. Perhaps it has something to do with it being a major
centre for Sufism? I'm not really sure though. Where's al-Halabi when you need him!?!
Incidentally, Hamza El Din does a nice version of Samai Husaini on his album "A Wish":
It sounds like a Samai Kurdi piece, with some very interesting modulations.
Does anyone know any more about this piece?

It is Dalal's own composition, Sama'i Hijaz Kar Kurd according to the caption at the start.jack - 12-25-2012 at 02:55 PM
I try to purchase music whenever possible, so as to support the artists, or their estate. In this case the Muhammad Qadri Dalal cd is also available
on emusic.com. It's a legitimate site, and cheap.David Parfitt - 12-26-2012 at 02:19 AM

Yes, so I'm not sure why the uploader has labelled it as Sama'i Hijaz on the page itself?Jono Oud N.Z - 12-26-2012 at 02:18 PM
