Hello, I realize this is a forum for ouds, but maybe someone can help me.
I have a seven string mızraplı tambur that was modified to have a guitar style peg box.
So, due to the different peg box, I'm a little confused on what the correct way to restring it would be. The ends seem to require a saz-like loop and
knot, but the pegs resemble an acoustic guitar head. This makes me confused on which peg should hold which string.
The previous owner seems to have criss-crossed the twin melody course strings after they have crossed over the nut and looped down threw a dipped
second nut(?) that have holes for each string to be inserted through.
Would this have been done for any particular reason? Say, due to the increased weight / size of the guitar like pegbox compared to a standard
tanbur?
Any help would be very highly appreciated.
Here are some photos.

The middle strings broke, so I wanna restring all of the strings.
Are there any considerations to bear in mind regarding which strings to replace first on account of neck / head tension?
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
