Just wanted to let people know about several CD releases - 'Turkish Oud' and 'Doğuş' - by the very talented Japanese oud player, Tetsuro
Shibayama. As you might have guessed, he plays Turkish style oud and has studied with Necati Celik.
Tetsuro has a Japanese-language website at www.oud-tetsuro.com, but it may be easier to email him about buying the CDs. His email is oudtetsuro@gmail.com and he is fluent in English in case your Japanese is a bit rusty!
I can't recommend these CDs highly enough. It is very refreshing to hear Turkish oud played by a non-Turkish person, and as well as choosing some of
the nicest classical pieces from he repertoire he has also included several of his own compositions.

A Japanese Turkish oud player, how unusual. I must check this out. Nothing on Spotify, unfortunately, though there are a few videos on Youtube. Thanks
