Thanks.

I am sure you have seen his website:

There was also a thread about a Turunz a while back:

Mostafa,

For what it's worth, I have a colleague with a very fine Saadettin Sandi oud. He has played many ouds and, in his opinion, none was better than his Sandi oud. Then he had an opportunity to play a Faruk Türünz oud. He is now of the opinion that the Türünz was the best he has ever played. I should stipulate that this colleague plays Turkish oud, not Arabic.

You can U2U me if you require further information.

Regards,

Greg

Mostafa,

I’m very, very pleased with my Turunz oud. The construction is top notch. The tone is very rich, and the instrument has a great natural reverb to it. My favorite aspect of it, though, is the neck. Unlike the other ouds I own, the neck is somewhat flattened on the back, not unlike an acoustic guitar. I think it feels great.

Faruk is a very nice person, too. He’s very easy to work with. He continually sent me progress reports on the instrument’s progress, including pictures of it being constructed. We discussed wood types and their qualities and how high I wanted the action. He takes great care in making you the instrument you want.

If you would like any more information, feel free to e-mail me.

Cheers,
William
