Hi Everybody-
I'm currently living in Istanbul, and would like to learn how to play the Arabic oud. Does anybody know a good place to find lessons? I'm looking for
instruction either in English or Arabic.

You are currently living in Stanbul and searching for a teacher for arabic oud? This could be heavy!
Is there a reason why you do not look for a turkish-oud-teacher?
THE MASTER of turkish Ud ,Yurdal Tokcan,lives in Istanbul. As far as I know he teaches.And I know he is a very nice guy.

I you really want to learn arabic oud in istanbul, you may try to meet some people from Mardin or Syrian.
There's a small hotel close to küçükayasofia mahali(down the blue mosque), the owner are from Mardin.
Ask for it and the can make you in touch with some oud teacher.
If you don't find check for Mardin music school on the net.

If you want to learn the turkish oud you can check the oud shop of the luthier Ramazan Calay. I know that oud lessons are taking place in his shop.
