VINTAGE SYRIAN OUD LABLE Translation needed

artem - 11-7-2014 at 03:32 PM

Hi!
I could not avoid buying another oud.:))

Can anybody be so kind to translate the label and determine the maker and the year of production.
I will appreciate any possible help greatly!

The rosette is quite dense so you will find a short iphone-made movie here:

The name of Luthier is Momammad Sobhi Dekkeh From Damascus.

Thank you very much Faladel!:)

I googled the name in a number of transcriptions and it looked like he's one of the most mysterious oud makers. Not much info at all. I could only find he had owned a shop at Madrassah Street, Jobbar, Damascus and had been active during the late 1950's - 1970' and probably up to 1980's.
It is not quite clear if he worked as a luthier (oud builder) himself or was just a buisness holder. There were other musical instruments available at his shop in Jobar as well. A couple of ouds under his lable were reported to have good sound. One of his ouds has probably been owned by Yair Dalal. :airguitar:

Hope someone can add something to this scanty data!

The label does not look like it has a date written on it. It is set for 196x but no number added unless it is too faint to read.

Thanks a lot Hussamd! One more bit of the mozaik:)
