Greetings friends,
I thought I'd plumb the depths of this forum in hopes to find some information. I'm heading to Istanbul (May 20-23, and also June 14-19), and Crete
(May 23 to June 14) and would love to see some live oud, lavta, saz, lyra, or anything interesting. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of venues to seek
out, or concerts which will be happening, while I am in Istanbul and Crete. I know about Ross Daly's Labyrinth on Crete, and will check it out, but
mostly I'm wondering about small venues or acoustic concerts, especially in Istanbul. Thanks.

I've searched through some of the municipalities/communes and there are so many concerts.

A good place to pick up flyers for concerts is the Mephisto bookshop near Taksim.

No problem. There is this 1 perfect concert for you 1 day later on 24th, but you aren't in Istanbul then.
So I'd recommend the first concert I linked although there are like 10 concerts you could join.

Thanks again for all the info. I'm back in Istanbul June 15-18 if anyone knows of any worthy live music happening then. I surely wish I could read
Turkish at this time.
