Oud chords

Anyone aware of the existance of Arabic chords (Arabic equivelant of western chords)? And any Arabic compositions for the oud which use these chords? It would seem reasonable to assume that chords can be built from the notes of a maqam, is it???

How can maqams be played on the piano? How would one obtain the 1/4 tones without retuning the piano? Are there special Arabic pianos like there are keyboards?

There was a quarter-tone piano in Egypt in the 1930s - it had additional keys/levers that ended up providing, I think, 17 notes per octave (E half-flat, B half-flat, F half-sharp, and a couple other notes, if memory serves me). It wasn't the most popular of instruments...

Several Iraqi compositions and not least some by Bashir incorporates chords and arpeggios.
