I've had this thing for a while now, and I think it's a waste to have it around and not use it properly. But it's way too thick and stiff and my
teacher has advised me not to use it.
How and what can I do to thin it down a bit? Sandpaper? And if so can anyone give me some advice as to how to go about it effectively and not mess it

I have some horn rishas, I sanded the end using a fine sand paper. On a flat surface I used a circular motion switching from one side to the other
pushing down on the tip with my finger. Don't go to thin or it will tend to split. I would hold it between my fingers and rub it when I had the flex I
prefered. I don't know if it was the oils from my fingers or the natural oils in the horn that gave it more durabilty.
