I know this is not the right section to discuss strings. but I just got Aquila strings installed on my $200 turkish oud and Man, it sounds as if Munir
Bashir's soul just passed through my cheap oud. this stuff feels like butter or Labnie.
I highly recommend switching to Aquila

I agree... i'm loving the strings i put on my Shehata Oud... man... makes me want to play even more than before...

im not such a fan of them. the strings are thicker than needed and add a lot of tension to the sounboard and bridge.
They actually highered the action of one of my students ouds.
