Samai in Hijaz Kar

SufianSaeed - 2-25-2017 at 02:47 PM

Hello everyone ,

I Recently started studying Hijaz Kar and i've been on the search for A Samai for it but i couldn't find anything all i keep finding is hijaz kar kud which i understand that the only difference is that E is natural in Hijar kar kurd but yet , there's no samai purely for Hijaz kar ?

Hi,

for sure there are many Samai's in Hijaz Kar. Here is one that I like a lot by Nadim Darwish.

Dan

PS : note that historically Hijaz Kar Kurd was that the same as Hijaz Kar with a final cadence in Kurd on C... Nowadays they are quite different in their development.

I was going to mention this one. There is also one by Mansour 3awad, but IMO the Darwish one is nicer.

Hi All, this might be interesting for you. From what I've gathered, from Turkish composers the two most well known seem to be:

Tanburi Cemil Bey:

Kemal Niyazi Seyhun:

Both compositions that show it well.
