3 interesting ebay ouds

There is a guy on ebay with what looks like 3 very interesting ouds.
First, a 1928 Ohanyan, although with a replaced soundboard

Second, a 1922 oud by "a Greek person", although again with a replaced soundboard:

And, finally, a Turkish oud, loaded with sedef--not my taste, but it might be well worth his starting bid:

I don't know who the maker is on that one.
These aren't mine--I was just surfing through ebay and stumbled on them. It is pretty uncommon to find old ouds on ebay.

Turkish maker

I'm pretty sure (99.99%) that the "famous maker" is Sadettin Sandi. In spite of the sedef the oud will probably be very good (notice the sedef is on the fingerboard mostly, therefore not affecting the sound).

I happen to own one similar to that one (see the Gallery). It was made befor ehe switched to making these sedef ones. Mine is more "modest". But a very good sound.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure the inlaid ud here is made by a maker named Kadir in Istanbul, not Sandi, though the fingerboard looks a lot like Sandi's inlaid ud (these inlays are probably ready made).

:)

Take care,

Speaking of Sadettin Sandi... while I enjoy playing (if you can call it that) and hope to get better in time, I have two ouds; one is of more recent design without a label. The other is a Sadettin Sandi dated 1981. Can anyone tell me more about this maker and what this oud (which was my father's friend's oud) is worth? Thanks.

Well, I posted a pic but it isn't showing. Anyway, just need some more info on this oud maker. Thanks again.

Hi Orahim1,

Try emailing me the pic - mavrothis@hotmail.com

Some of his higher models are worth well over $1000, depending. How do these ouds sound?

Take care,
