Hello!
I will be going to Egypt for few weeks in August. I am looking to get an oud from there. Are there any places/makers you recommend.
Also, anyone knows where they would sell Zeryab ouds in Egypt?

Hi!
I've been in Egypt for a while, while studying with Hazem Shaheen. There are nowadays three main oud maker. Mahmoud Dagher, Mahmoud Mostafa and
Mohammad Gaafar.
I've tryied all of them, except the Mahmoud Dagher, which I only heard playing.
I would highly recommend Mahmoud Mostafa. He's made most of Fathi Amin ouds. And his work is well done and keep his word. I know him very well and can
put you in contact with him.
Mohammad Gaafar make even better ouds, I must say. But I wouldn't say he's a nice person. One cannot rely on him and he has a weird concept of time.
