Also, just to mention that I paid much more for this Oud by the time it was shipped, with extra case, and then customs so if you are in N.America, you will save quite a bit on customs having this delivered more locally. The OUD will be perfectly packaged, tracked, insured, etc...so the buyer will have NO Worries whatsoever on the purchase.
Also, I love this OUD and do NOT really want to sell but thought someone who wants to dabble in a 7 course may like this since I am not using it to its fullest potential and maybe someone else can enjoy it.
Thanx.

Can you explain this 'adjustable action height nob'? What does it do and how does it work?

MattOud - 5-29-2018 at 01:37 PM

Hi Chris,
On the pegbox(see second last pic above), there is an allen key shaped female end under the strings. Zoom the pic and you can see it better.
Apparently, some of the Khalifeh models have this truss rod mechanism where you can change the action if needed by turning this with an allen key. I forget exactly the direction but remember reading it on this forum somewhere else, perhaps in relation to the Sukar which has similar idea but in different location. I have a sukar as well with an adjustable truss rod running through the neck, but it is in the soundhole area.
HTH!

Can't believe this hasn't generated more interest.
I have have one offer so far, a little lower than i want to sell this for.

Can I remind everyone of this maker here:

This is a beautiful OUD that should really find a good home. Ask questions, I am a fair seller....
Cheers!

I had my eyes on it since it was up for sale by Oud.proff.

Certainly, I would love to have it BUT ...

I hope it finds a deserving home soon ❤️

Thanx for the feedback! I am just happy there is some interest as it is a beautiful instrument!

I think I would feel better with new strings on this however, for the new owner. Some may remember a thread where we spoke of the new(at the time) aquila red strings, and so I tried them for this oud...they are great strings, but I am finding the red wrap unwinding on one of the A strings that is now bugging me. I didn't play this OUD too hard, so this is a faulty wind issue in this case i believe... Whoever buys this OUD will want new strings I am sure(i like to change them frequently regardless), and I am happy to put them on ahead of time or even include a set, but I want to first figure out which might be best set for this OUD. I am not sure what OudProff had on these before, he may not have even put them on but the previous owner... regardless, I think I would try something other than the aquila reds. This is 58.5 scale...
