I'm doing a protracted series recording and commenting on the Persian Radif and specifically how you would approach the Radif on the Oud as the Radif
was composed mainly for long-necked lutes.

The start of a valuable endeavor! In the first video at about 1:30 you say that segah from the appropriate fingering on the second string is not an
ideal place to play this dastgah on oud and that what would usually be done is to tune the oud down and play an octave lower. But you do not seem to
have tuned the oud down. You seem to be keeping the same tuning and playing on lower strings. Am I misunderstanding something?

I'm not sure if you're misunderstanding anything. Maybe what I said is confusing. I just checked the pitch of the video and the Oud is indeed tuned
down a full step from CGADgc to BbFGC f bb. I had tuned the Oud down before recording the video.
But to keep things simple, I'm basically saying you would play segah on B quarterflat on the A string. In order to play the exact key of the written
radif you would tune the oud down a whole step.

Yes at the start you say that you have already tuned the oud down a step. And this can be heard. But then after playing each component pitch of Segah
dastgah at the usual pitch and before playing it an octave lower you say that an oud player will want to tune down a step before playing it an octave
lower. But you have not tuned down yet another step. That's is what confused me: mentioning tuning down a second time. So yes I was confused. What
you demonstrate is absolutely clear and in my opinion very valuable as well. But what you say is less clear. Keep Up The Good Work !
