High fa strings wanted ! (not full set of strings)

sylvainbd - 10-29-2021 at 05:07 AM

Hello
I have several incomplete sets of strings in Labella or Pyramid. Anyone have a link to buy high F strings? Just the high strings in F not the full set ...
Does it exist? I think the diameter is 0.024 ...
Thanks for answer

LaBella is .022in.

LaBella also makes .023 if you wanted higher tension. .024 seems quite high to me for high f', lots of players use even lower tension (as low as .019) Though for your designs I'd expect higher tension to work better.

Pyramid Oud (orange) high f'f' is 0,55mm.
Pyramid ones I used to carry — ask Mustafa, I couldn't find them on his site but they are possibly available.
Unless you meant Pyramid lute, in which case I think the options would be .525, .550 and .575 for low, medium and high tension.

You could just order Pyramid directly from Germany as well.

Hi Sylvain, Brian,
sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Ive been out with minor surgery...

all the individual treble strings are here, and you can sort by brand:
https://oudstrings.com/collections/plain

i put together a number of custom sets for 58,5 cm....here are the high f options im listing for them:

f' of RN500 at 3.45 kg. or .020
f' of RN525, at 3.77 kg or .021
f' of .550RN at 4.17 kg or .022

Sylvain, weve been in touch about a few customers, and i know you told me that around 4 kgs tension is best for your builds, so id recommend this set -- at 58,5, it averages about 4.2 kg:

I would use the .022nylon on that set. Feel free to use that link for your customers!

i have an equilavent Pyramid set pre built but im out of a few of the elements that make it up, so its not public yet...

let me know what you need!
best, M
