Horn or feather risha wanted

kampanas - 12-8-2021 at 04:59 PM

Is anyone selling horn or feather rishas that can ship them to England?

I'm looking to buy.

I'd be interested in this as well. I'm in Canada.

I have had some customers ask for feather rishas for my medieval lutes and cobzas. I've found that magpie feathers can work well if prepared correctly for this. I'm not sure how well it'd suit the sound of oud but might be something to try.

If you have a bit of money to spend on it, I've seen people selling eagle and ostrich feathers online which would probably be a better fit sound-wise.

Also, hello from another part of London :D

Here are some horn risha for sale
£15 each plus p&p depending on your location. Please note, due to Brexit :/ import taxes may apply.

Rough dimensions as per photo. I aim for a thickness of around .60 mm. Vintage Khalaf risha an the left for comparison. Thanks Jameel.
Please note horn is a natural material and some irregularities in surface and grain remain
They have been soaked in olive oil for at least 24 hrs to help soften the fibres.

Please email me if interested
