Another e-bay oud

TruePharaoh21 - 6-7-2005 at 02:42 PM

Hey everyone. I just came across this auction on e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=623&...

It looks like it could have some potential to be a good oud, though I have never heard of the maker "Marko." Just letting you all know. Happy bidding!

And if you think THAT is unusual, take a look at the recently listed 7329630635. The decoration itself is in CREDible. Is this for real?

It's been on Ebay more than once....

It is pretty ornate. The maker is great (Fathi Amin). Of the three ouds that I have, two of them were made by him. They have a very nice and warm sound to them. I would say that 7329630635 is probably a great oud (just by my experience with the maker), but it is a bit pricey. Eh, I guess if you've got the money...

Dear friend,
The sound is the most important thing,it's not the how it looks like,
Does it has a soundclip so we can have an idea how it is?

I contacted the maker in Cairo. He makes ouds for the students at Beit El Oud El Araby there. If you call him direct, he will give you a much LOWER price. However, a teacher at Beit El Oud told me that this particular maker produces ONE quality oud out of TEN!
Just call the number on the ticket and ask for Mahammad Marco

Hi Steve
The fathi Amin Ouds are great if you get one made in the 70's
