I dont know if Iam right... but by the looks of it, the "egyptian" oud looks more like a Iraqi inspired oud. With the size, the soundholes and the floating brige more in the Iraqi style. Iam just wondering..
Is it made in egypt?
That khalifeh seems all right too.
cheers

i call this egyption oud basher style becouse monir basher started with it becouse it is good for high tension.
today every one copy this style it could be made in egypt i hope it hase good sound and comfortable to play on like the oud's that made by yaroub or his fhather mohamed fhadel ho bilde the soundboard as monir basher asked him to do

well the oud was realy built in egypt it has a floating bridge & eliptical sound holes but the body shape is rounder like other egyptian ouds.

It looks to me as it was built by "Ahmed Abd Elhaliem" from Egypt. Look at the attached pics. and see what I mean. Good Oud though I think.
