Yazoal2K - 11-15-2005 at 08:58 PM

Dear All
How are you all doing, it has been a while since I posted but life manages to keep you buisey, but there is always time to play the oud and follow your nice comments. Attached here is the 7th part of a meeting with Abadi, and you will see Abadi talking and showing his oud, and on the last oud is for the later Talal Madah who help Abadi on his early days, and Abadi kissed his oud and cried.
here is the link

elrabee3 - 11-17-2005 at 07:45 AM

guys, i wanna discuss somthing with u and i need ur expert opinion.
i noticed somthing that seprate abadi from other oud players. (if it is only one thing :D ).
anyeay, i noticed that his left hand movement (as called in arabic s7bat)is soo sleek and soft on the oud, it reminds of the movement of the violin players. check this file of abadi playing violin and u will notice the similraties between the violin playing and his technique on playing on oud

David Parfitt - 11-17-2005 at 07:52 AM

Does anyone have any more news on the Abady taqasim CD that was mentioned here a while ago?

Thanks

David

elrabee3 - 11-17-2005 at 02:12 PM

abadi still working on that CD, he was talking about that idea for more than 4 years, but as we know abadi doesnt want to release a cd to be another taqaseem cd, it should be worth abadi's name, and to be talked about not just now, but even in the future.
i have a confencde that abadi will release a great CD, becuse i know that ha has many crazy ideas in his mind that he can translte on his oud.

David Parfitt - 11-17-2005 at 03:29 PM

Thanks Jaber.

SamirCanada - 12-4-2005 at 10:48 AM

ALLAH ALLAH

OMG I have to change shirts now... Its go drool all over it.
Man that taqasseem is out of this world.
Abadi was top notch. that day.

Do you know who else was performing? Did you have the chance to record other oudists?

elrabee3 - 12-4-2005 at 10:54 AM

some other oud playerswho were there are Ammar el Shera`ei, Mamdooh el Gebali, Safwan Bahlwan, and Ahemd Fatehi.

BTW, abadi wasnt in his best performance that day, he was little bit nervoius and tired, specialy at the beginig when he started with the taqaseem, he made few mistakes.
but still outstanding performance. BTW, abadi was the only oud player who played with 5-strings oud.

i will try to find if the clips of other ouds players are avilble.

Mike - 12-8-2005 at 05:30 PM

Very very nice Jaber. I heard that he was not feeling well recently. It is great to see him on stage again. Mo made that oud especially for Abadi to use in this festival. And as a side note: Ammar, Mamdouh, and Ahmad Fathi all used Mo's ouds during their performances. He must be doing something right I guess.

very beautiful TP, nice finding. The taqseem in the beginning reminds me a lot of the king...

BTW: what's the oud he's using? whose fabrication?

JamesOud - 2-3-2008 at 02:35 PM

Hey Guys,

Im a big fan of Abadi, but that was the most disappointing taqasim Ive heard. The phrases where beautiful, but it was so out of tune and it didnt seem like he tuned his oud. Otherwise it was fine.

TruePharaoh21 - 2-3-2008 at 02:36 PM

Looks like an unknown oud maker to me. Maybe someone else can clue us in. Haven't seen any of the oud makers we know using rosettes like that.

Mike - 2-3-2008 at 05:27 PM

That's a Mo oud. It's the one pictured in this thread.

turkishoudman - 4-5-2008 at 12:12 AM

hello guys i didn't know this oud player and i'm just and oud lover can anyone explain to me what is the specifity of this oud player because i feel that his way of playng is a little dirty on the string and the musical sentences are more the arabic style of the sixties and the technique is not really developped compared to what we see now i heard some forum members who play better than him.

So can anyone explain to me??

spyros mesogeia - 4-5-2008 at 12:21 AM

Some people like the parfums of the rose.....some people eat them to taste if they are good to eat....
I have seen the other comments of yours....about the clarinets...I suppose that you need a teacher to show you the beauty of each style and instrument....
Regards to all styles.....and players....
Usually I don't respond that way,but that was a challenge.....
Listen some more musicians and styles my friend.....I am sure after some years you will understand the diferences....First time that I have heard Munir Bashir I said is borring[how stupid and yeanger I was....Now,I say that he was a genius.....God bless his soul......All of them

turkishoudman - 4-5-2008 at 12:32 AM

spyros thank you for the answer and for opening the field of discussion nevertheless i would please ask you to not use any frontal and personal attack like listen to this (do you know my background?)

i just expressed a sincere opinion far from provocation and challenge and i was looking for someone to point the strengths of abadi jawhar way of playng because when u are not musician you surely miss a lot of points.

Friendly to evryone.

spyros mesogeia - 4-5-2008 at 12:39 AM

Yes my friend,
And as I said before,
I sugest to you to listen and make an archive of oudplayers. All nationalities possible, and that way you will have an opinion.....
It is not my attempt to attack you,but to help you.So my sugestion to you is to listen as more possible solists[players].
I can give you some matterial if u wish directly online.
My msn account is myrinousios@hotmail.com
