Akram, Keefak ya habibi.
You should email Issa Boulos. He is from Jerusalem and lived and worked in Ramallah. He lives in Chicago USA. He has an ibrahim Sukar. His webiste
is found on links page of mikes ouds.
From what he told me, they are ok ouds but they buzz a bit. He says u need to wait 5 years or so before the sound matures and the oud becomes really
good. I asked him about Samir totah's ouds from Ramallah and he said he likes Samir Totah's ouds better than ibrahim sukar.
I was told somewhere as well that if you go look for a sukar oud in syria you will find it much cheaper than bying from online. As for customs, I
think its true because I ordered a bridge from Samar Azar for my oud and I never got it. so its possible you cant ship from syria, plus akram
considering your situation I dont know how you can get an oud from syria anyway. Can Golan Arab residents go to el Sham. I know they let them go pray
in Damascus for a holiday but can they came and go freely?akram - 9-25-2005 at 11:47 PM
ahlan ya rami
kefak ya zalamy

thank you samir and Jonathan i hope sukar will answer my mail

I believe some of the sanctions imposed in the "Syrian Accountability Act" prevent us in the USA from receiving items from Syria. I know that we
can't export items, other than food, into Syria so I assume it is the same way trying to import things from there. This is not a political forum so I
won't elaborate on the act but it would be in everyone's best interest to read up on it.
