You are absolutely right Emad. He is right up there for me. Emad, didn't you meet him or know him personally? Maybe you can tell us about that?
Many thanks to TP21 for these great files. There are more to come soon too. Thanks again Peter!

TruePharaoh21 - 6-7-2006 at 11:22 AM
Many thanks to the guys down at zamanalwasl.net
I won't even say anything about George Michel's playing...
Perhaps, one of my most favorite clips for Jamil Bashir. These guys are just having fun. Try to see if you can catch the joke in the second half of
the 5th minute.
Playing Toota in concert... I tell you, the only thing better than listening to him play this is seeing him in concert playing it.
Special thanks to zeryab.org

Farid el-Atrache
TruePharaoh21 - 6-8-2006 at 05:19 PM
Rare recording of what seems to be just the guys sitting around and having some fun. Taqsims on the oud (by Farid, of course), violin by Ahmed (whom
I'll assume is Ahmed el-Hifnawi), and on the qanun (no name given anywhere in the recordings). Mawwal by Farid is also present, as well as Toota.
I believe this might be from that CD, something to do with a night with the king of the oud, or something to that effect.
TP21, This rare recording of Farid is AMAZING!!!
I listen to it now by myself and it brought tears to my eyes,
mixture of sadness and joyful feeling, for talent that was once
here but gone forever.
If the term Heavenly Talented was appropriate
anywhere, this would definitely be it.
will let my father listen to it tomorrow.
i'm sure he will cherish it as much as i do.
he used to listen to many of Farid recordings
back in morocco (50s).
Thank you very much for preserving that talent.
This recording is a definite keeper.
Farid Ghosn
TruePharaoh21 - 10-24-2006 at 11:15 AM
Hey guys,
New taqsim by Farid Ghosn (well, new to most of us, I'm sure). Provided graciously by orientaltunes.com.
TP21zalzal - 10-25-2006 at 08:01 AM
Just started to listen.....is it suznak ??
I liked this school...can we call it so?? Like Omar Naqishbendi style.
I feel it like an industrial hammering of notes, insisting on each note note 4-5 times, with exactly same pression, which is very hard to
reach.....
In fact even the sound of the oud is similar to the tracks which offered here in rare section....may be is a nahat ??.
Btw who is Farid Ghosn, a lubnani, a syrian??
Must be same years as Omar Naqishbendi.zalzal - 10-25-2006 at 08:02 AM
Forgot to say thankyou TruePharaoh21, i love this style of taqsim, a lotzou - 10-28-2006 at 03:59 AM

Hey guys,
Does anyone still have that recording that I had posted up for Farid el-Atrache up above? The 60 megs one, just a few posts up... I'd really
appreciate it if anyone had it and could provide it again.
zshare.net apparently lets you post audio and have the file stream before you choose to download it... and can store huge files that you don't have to
wait for a minute before they start to download, like rapidshare. Just a suggestion.
Thanks,
TP21Rambaldi47 - 4-14-2007 at 08:35 AM
Hi, TP21 :-)
I have it and will upload it to RS.COM or some other
file host you'll recommend.
still enjoy very much this listening to this rare recording
and would be more than happy to share it again.
I think I will clean it a bit of background
noises if that's ok with you.
the original will stay intact :-)
EDIT: alright. reducing noise either ruined the file (don't worry
i worked with a copy) or just crashed in the middle due to my
crappy system so that didn't go well. but the file is on Rapidshare now if someone would want it.
Rambaldi, I'm so sorry that I never properly thanked you for reposting this. I was so excited to have the file back, it slipped my mind.
Thanks!
Taqsim Rast - Abdo Saleh and el-Qasabji

Hey Mike, you're welcome, buddy.
Here's one more, from your favorite oudist. The quality's not all that great, but it's worth the listen.
Farid el-Atrache - Kol Dah Kan Leih Intro and Taqsim
TruePharaoh21 - 6-22-2007 at 12:34 AM
Hey guys,
I have a file for Farid playing Abdel Wahab's Kol Dah Kan Leih, where Najat accompanies him in singing. Here's the intro and interspersed taqsims that
occur in the recording.
Hope you enjoy!

Farid el-Atrache - Playing a Taqsim for Abdel Wahab
TruePharaoh21 - 6-27-2007 at 12:25 PM
Hey guys,
I know some of you guys may have this clip from before, but this has an extended intro of about 1 minute, I believe. Seeing as Mike has been posting
stuff for Farido, I think it's the season to post this as well!
Enjoy!Mike - 6-27-2007 at 10:23 PM
Thanks again TP. I have this recording. I think it shows that even though there are lots of stories of how Farido and Wahab didn't always see eye to
eye, what they did have was a mutual respect for each other and their art. Awesome stuff buddy!
Oh, and how sick is George Michel??? SamirCanada - 6-27-2007 at 11:02 PM
Aahh ya Wad Ahhh... I just cant get enough of this Farid with Abdel wahab.
thanks TPTruePharaoh21 - 11-19-2007 at 07:35 PM
Hey guys,
I found this Youtube user who posted a good deal of Abadi videos.
Killer find TP. So much tarab. Amazing video...Jameel - 1-6-2008 at 10:18 AM
I managed to catch the last frame of that video. I was hoping it would continue. I love these videos from the 60's back! Anbody know who this is?TruePharaoh21 - 1-6-2008 at 03:08 PM
The buzuq player? That's Matar Mohammad. I think you can find some things for him on this forum; I believe Mike featured him on the MP3 page before.
He's awesome.Jameel - 1-6-2008 at 04:21 PM
No. I meant the oud player in this screen shot. I have Matar's album from Voice of Stars. Great album.TruePharaoh21 - 1-6-2008 at 05:29 PM
It's been sometime since a sound file has been posted in this topic, so I figured it was about time to. Here's a traditional taqsim on the oud by
Karim Mahmud.
