Armenian oud by Bedros Kazakian

journeyman - 5-17-2006 at 09:23 AM

Hello Everyone,
I just purchased an oud by the Armenian builder, Bedros Kazakian. It has been modified to a floating bridge style and I will be having it restored to a fixed bridge, as it was originally. If anyone has any pictures of ouds by this builder, or owns one, could you please contact me? It would be great to have the information as reference.

Peace Profound,
Roy

Thanks!

Hello Jonathan,
I'll e mail you a couple of photos, but keep in mind that it has been altered to a floating bridge type. I would be interested in your opinion as to whether or not the mother of pearl inlay is original or not. Also, any ideas on what type of bridge shape it might have had? I wasn't sure how to post the photos, so I'll e mail them to you and if it is not too much trouble, could you post them here?

Cheers,
Roy

Nice pics, Roy. I wish I knew more about this maker. Anybody else have any ouds by him?

There was some question about the authenticity of this oud so I have reversed the deal. The seller was very good about it and I'll leave it at that. Buying ouds over the internet can be a challenge and sometimes it is hard to curb our enthusiasm. (my own in this case)
