Naseer is probably my favorite living oudist. I can't count the number of times I've watched that video. I wish he would publish the sheet music for some of his compositions

I had the opportunity to meet Nasser the last summer in Crete. I participated in an oud master class organized by the Labyrinth Musical Workshop.During that week Naseer instructed us his own techniques and the techniques of Iraqi oud,as well.
It was a great experience for me. I keep contact with him.I intend to visited him in the close future going to Cairo, in the "House of oud".
A very nice man, a great virtuoso and most of all one the best teachers of the instrument and of the modal musical tradition.

That video remains one of my favorites on YOU TUBE. Before Saturday, I'd never heard of the man. I watched it numerous times. Starting out, I'd watch his hands closely, but after a while all I could do was listen, so beautiful and haunting. That piece has great Historical significance, then and now.
