Sammy,

I measured my Najarian electric (it's the one with the face) and the body is about 14-1/4" at the widest - same as my acoustic ouds. The body depth is about an inch and a half. I didn't weigh it but it's not too heavy (there's a shallow hollow space inside).

The nut to bridge length is about an inch shorter than my acoustic (Arabic) ouds. I think Viken bases his design on the Turkish rather than Arabic style. I have it tuned to Arabic tuning (C E A D G C) though and it plays fine.

Happy building,
Nathan

14-1/4" across the middle from one edge to the other, at about where the pickguard is. Yes, it's hollow inside.

See http://www.alazifoon.com - the measurement is from top to bottom, at the widest, about where my hand is.

Also see http://www.oud.net/electric.htm - it's the E2000 model. I think the E-1000 has the same dimensions.
