Get one of the Chinese Strat copies. A Strat works for everything. Lintfree

what is your budget and where are you located?

palestine48 - 7-17-2007 at 07:59 PM

thanks everyone for the help, i found what i was looking for. a barely used epiphone les paul for he price i was hunting for. again I apologize for a non oud related issue, i just felt i knew and trusted most f you for the proper advise rather than joing another forum.

Good choiche! Try to change the two humbuckers and put a couple of classic '57 pickups on. It will sound very close to an original Gibson Les Paul.
Ciao ciao, Giuseppe.:airguitar:

excentrik - 7-25-2007 at 10:15 PM

peppeo77!!!! ha! thats exactly the type of pickups I have on my gibson les paul standard- thats cool- man you got taste!

yo lintfree- I disagree with you're stratcentricity- I personally can't stand playing strats- they feel like toy guitars, and the sound can never be close to the warmth and sustain of a solid body mahogany les paul... but thats just me...

Rami, hows the guitar playing going? put a fist through the wall yet?

tarik:D

palestine48 - 7-26-2007 at 06:33 PM

No I havent punched the wall yet, although its tempting because my guitar is just too beautiful to smash up if i ever get frustrated. the plus side is its making my oud practice feel less like work and more as a leisure. scales are certainly not as physically easy on a guitar vs oud. but inshalllah I will master both.

Yalla get your butt up hear and show me how to rock, i need to start showin off for my groupies.

palestine48 - 7-26-2007 at 10:46 PM

just thought aI show you a pic of my two beauties, its a camera phone so thats my excuse for the bad lighting but hopefully you guys will enjoy it.

Lintfree - 7-29-2007 at 08:04 PM

P-90's, brother. There's some guy who makes them again but they cost. The pickups on those Japanese Epiphones are great sounding. Sometimes cheaper is best. $400. or $4000. for the same sound?....and probably made in the same factory! Good one.
