Yes I had one that I sold to a friend here in Sweden, is authentic with a bent soundboard. What do you wish to know? Also Alan in USA have one authentic.

Wow this is "THE" Mohammed Fadel oud... You're a lucky man Alan. My 11yo sister saw these pics and said this oud looks like he hasn't had a good sleep in a long time!!!! I'm guessing she was talkin about the dark inlay around the soundholes. But if this oud has been given the number 5964....there must be something in the order of 6000 Fadel ouds out there! maybe more since it was made in 1992. So theres still hope guys.... (of owning one)

This is the real thing and not one of the many fakes that came out the last years from his workshop - what a miserable ending he had :-(
The soundboard on Alan's is of excellent spruce and the entire instrument is top class when it was made for a professional musician. The design of the sound holes and pick guard are not the traditional style that Fadel used but also the more oval shaped comes in various design. What is most interesting with Fadel's Bashir model is the bent soundboard which never gives problems with sunken bridges and high string action.
I do not know why so few present makers prefer to build with ¨flat¨ soundboards and with all the problems it gives. Check out Matthias Wagners copy of the Fadel: http://www.lutes-strings.de/e-aoud_munir-bashir.php

Fadi Matta is a modern oudmaker who makes exclusively the Bashir floating bridge model with bent soundboard, this oud can deal with very high strings tension (and it is a 7 course) I have 29N Pyramid strings installed without any problem even though the bridge is very thin as you can see on the photos in this thread:

and here a sound file:
