This is very creative! A true marriage. But, this isn't necessary.

Hey Samir,
I've been around bro. Trying to make some time in this crazy world to sit down and enjoy my oud. Have fun in Cali man.

My God - that thing looks dangerous - You could hurt yourslef!. But what would be amazing about it....is the resonace of the passive strings...Like
if the violin is being played, then the oud stings will automatically vibrate and hence resonate, which I imagine would give a very beautiful shadowy
sound. Not that you can hear it in the video clip, but I guess it's a bit like an indian sitar, where there is strings that are played, and strings
that are there just to resonate and pick up the virbation. Very interesting. Thx for posting Samir

Beas. One - I guess an instrument maker would get pritty bored just making the one kind of instrument all the time, or maybe more curious than bored.
So why not explore? experiment? and although not all results will be successful - thats why you experiment! Like the electric fretless base for
example; a not so literal marriage of elec bass and double bass, but definitely one killer of an invention - with its east-west versatility.
from 1901
