I know it has probably been asked before, I can't read sheet music, is there any other way to learn how to play this song, it isn't on Oud tutor,
please any help, thanksdubai244 - 8-11-2007 at 07:17 AM
Hi Ali,
Yes, there is another way. Listen to it 100 times and then do it on the oud. Take it step by step.
cheers

From someone who doesn't read oud music either......I'm going to learn how. It's a single line like a horn chart not like a piano. Once you get how
the microtones are written it will be easy. I hate reading music but knowing how will increase the number of pieces I'll be able to play a hundred
times over. People on this site are the most helpful musicians you'll ever find and there are some great players who are regulars. Go for it, Homes.alibaba - 8-12-2007 at 03:59 AM

Dear Alibaba:
Here is a video of that song I recorded sometime ago !, hope you like it and find it helpful
Learning how to read music isn't that difficult, it just takes time. With that said, one of my father's best friends was a FANTASTIC oud player, and
he never learned how to read music. I wish I was that versed in playing the oud.Cyberquills - 8-12-2007 at 07:33 PM

Thanks, I just got to try and get the order and finger placement right. It seems most of it is played on the second to last set, right?alibaba - 8-16-2007 at 05:55 AM
