first of all, hello! this is my first post, and i regret that it isn't under better circumstances--
today, my oud's fixed bridge snapped right off due to string tension. fortunately, the bridge and nut are intact and in one piece.
so, my question is, can i just fix the bridge back on the body with a wood epoxy? i fixed a crack on the back of it using epoxy and it's held up
extremely well. will it withstand the tension of 12 strings pulling at it?

Take this with a grain of salt since I haven't done it yet, but regular titebond is purported to work well. Do not use tite bond 2 or 3, or the liquid
hide glue.
I think that the reasoning behind using titebond is that it's reversible with heat or steam if a repair is needed.

wow! that must have knocked your socks right off! What type of oud is it, and how was it tuned? try contacting Dr.Oud for more info on this repair

my understanding is not to use epoxy . . . if for some reason the bridge were to pull loose again, it would almost certainly take some of the face
with it. I'm sure Jameel and Dr. Oud will weigh in here, but you can also search the forum because similar questions have been answered before.

dr. oud says epoxy is 3rd choice, after hide glue and titebond/carpenter's glue.
