orange label low C

charlie oud - 4-16-2008 at 12:58 PM

Please can anyone advise. Im assuming that the Pyramid lowest pitch C string (sold seperately) is ok to be tuned up to D aswell, or does this put the oud under too much tension?. Charlie.

It's fine at D.

Shameless plug: the orange sets I sell include the single C/D.

Thanks Jameel. Plug welcome. Will remember when I next order. C.

Whats that orange set like? I know its cheap - but is it decent? Does it last a few months or do the wounds rot after a couple of weeks?

Cheers :)

I use the orange set with C tuned up to D and it is fine. I like the sound of it too and they last quite a few months (ok, I don't play every day :) )

Hey Melb, I have tried nial gut, saverez, la bella, pyramid lute strings & pyramid orange label. On balance my preference is for orange label, the tension of each string & the set collectively feels perfect. This makes for fine transition from string to string, the sound is strong, clear & good quality & yes they last. They happen to be cheaper than other makes but I would still use them even if they were'nt. Having said all that its for each player to decide for themselves. Good luck. C.
