Greetings friends,
Coming into the world of oudism from a Western-music background, I've found that I've had a hard time understanding the structure and development of
both Ottoman and Arabic music. Can anyone recommend a good book that can help an absolute beginner understand how this music works? The most helpful
things I've found have been liner notes to traditional music CD's I've picked up, but they are very limited in their scope of information. Thanks!

Marina - thanks so much for the text!
Dincer - great link - thanks a lot! By the way, the new pegs you fitted for me are wonderful and the oud is so much easier to tune. Thanks again!
