Longa Hijazkar?

oudman - 5-1-2004 at 06:17 PM

Does anyone know who composed this longa, and if possible does anyone have the sheet music? ;)

Oudman, I don't have the answer to your question, but I do have a question for you... where do you get all of these great clips from?

I like that one . . . do you have the whole song, or just that excerpt? If you put up the whole song, there might be some sheet music in it for you . . .
btw, I thought you were the one we could turn to when we didn't know the title or composer of a piece ;)

I was looking at sabsabys new website and it was a track on one of his cds - i recognized the piece right away because i have some algerian takht on video playing the same longa - when i have some time ill transfer from the video to my computer
brian, once in a while, it happens that I dont know a piece ;)

Hi Souhail
Where did you get that clip from? its the exact one that I have on video. There is also a violinist, a nai player, a percussionist and a woman playing the kanun...
By the way, do you have any other clips of Ali Sirti? On the video he had a couple of solos, he is amazing and plays with a lot of feeling.

hi oudman
this track is from a cd recorded from a concer where Ali Sriti and his student Anoua Brahem performed together in a palace called "anajma ezzahraa" in tunis.
the takht as you said is composed by two oudists, kanoun, violin, nay and in percussion Khalid Hossni "he performed with anouar brahem in "compte de l'incroyable amour" and "astrakhan cafe";)
the program was based on samaii, loungas and old arabic and tunisian songs, sang by tunisian singer Sonia Mbarek.
there is a beautifull duo between the two oudist i'll try to post it asap
