Live music oud recording

peppeo77 - 8-29-2008 at 07:36 AM

Hi folks,
I'd like to share with you something I recorded playing in a concert in April, it was a concert of an italian actor-singer, born in Pantelleria, a small island between Italy and Tunisia. It was a concept concert about this beautiful island, and of course the music is very influenced by the arabic music. That's why there is an oud in the band... :)
I had to compress the audio file a lot, so sorry for the poor quality.
Every criticism on my oud playing is very welcome...
Thanks folks,enjoy!
Giuseppe.
BTW: don't try to understand the lyrics...he sings in dialect!

todà Sammy, I'm glad you appreciated. Actually it's not italian, it's a particular sicilian dialect, spoken in Pantelleria, a small island between Sicily and Tunisia. Basically I barely understand a few words (I'm from Rome).
Grazie, Giuseppe.

Bon Giorno Giuseppe,

Che Bella! I really liked your use of tremolo and the phrasing seemed right on... I liked the short taqsim at the beginning...
