This Iraqi oud was made by a very talented Iraqi luthier and a wood artist, Qasim Naqqash (of Baghdad).
Specifications:
The oud is exclusively made of Indian rosewood (Sisam).
The Oud was finished in January 2008
Made of Indian rosewood
The soundboard is made of spruce.
The keys are of ebony.
The soundbox consists of 15 ribs (Indian Rosewood) where 6 light-colored walnut ribs (clustered in couples) are somewhat inlayed on top.
The oud is a 6-course, designed to house 12 strings.
Dimensions: Soundbox length: 48.5 cm (19.4'), Soundbox width: 38 cm (15.2'), Soundbox depth: 18 cm (7.2'), Fingerboard length: 20 cm (8'), String
length (from nut to bridge): 60 cm (24'), Bridge style: fixed (classic).
