Anyone got the email address and phone number for Michael Moussa, I tried the email address on his website but it seems not to work.

Thanks

Leon

Leon,

Below is Micheal Moussa's page.

http://www.magicstrings.co.uk/lutes.htm

I used the email in his webpage without any issues. We corresponded for a while and I tried visiting him several time during my trips to the UK, but I had no time. It is a shame because I was less than 20 minutes away from him.

WHAT A SHAME!!!!

Please give us some insight about his work if you end up with one of his instruments.

Regards,

Hatem

I've just had a look at the website...the prices of these ouds seems very reasonable. Have many people had much experiences with Moussa ouds?

They certainly look very nice - I'm wondering what the sound and quality are like. Hope to hear from people :wavey:

Hi

I just chatted to Michael, so all is fine - I have a friend who would like an oud and I can't think of a better person to get one from - Melbourne ... I really like the sound of his ouds, a few members here have his ouds and I played some last year at our oud meeting and love the balanced tone and one in particular belonging to Kelly has the most fabulous 'cello' like sound.

You're right there Leon. Michael,s ouds are wonderful, full of character each one being slightly different but all generally warm sounding. you need to try them out before you decide.

Myself and Awad have also changed over to Mari strings and they really bring out the tone even more.

Hope to see you in June

Regards to Blondie and the rest of the family

Hi Kelly

Great to hear from you - how's the ouding going, haven't heard any sound files from anyone (UK) recently - I ought to be able to get over to see you folks as I have a commission (Installation art) in Bingley so I'll be heading north a little more often. I'm going to see Michael on my way up in a couple of weeks to check out a Manol copy he has for a friend of mine who wants a decent oud for his 60th birthday.

He's still getting going on oud but a good acoustic instrument will really help him along ... plus I'll get to play on it every now and then :D

Cheers

Hi Ammar

Congratulations on your new Moussa oud. You made a good choice going for the 7 course oud. It would be good to meet up soon for more tunes.

Leon: just a thought re oud and what tuning does your mate Alfie want to use. Is he going for Turkish pitch? in which case check with Michael re Manoli model cos I can't remeber what pitch it is built for.

See you both soon.

This does ring a bell Leon, I now remember seeing that thread before. Very elegant piece of work indeed.

Thanks
