Hello udis,

last week i was for a couple of days in thessaloniki and i met with Tasos.. I was more than happy to see that he was ready with a lavta,he was constructing the last year. It was a special order and he used really high quality materials (woods :old Paduk , abalone sedef, ivory pegs, tortoise rosettes). As you see the work he did in the detail of the fingerboard , peghead ,rosettes etc. is more than perfect.
And the most important this lavta sounds really fantastic.

Some fotos for you

Wow would you look at that!! - congratulations on this - I have a Tasos oud so appreciate what a wonderful instrument this must be. If you could put a sound file up that would be great - what is to be appreciated is just how good these instruments of Tasos' sound.

Brilliant stuff

Bravo re Taso! Absolutely gorgeous instrument! It reminds me of the Manolis Venios lavta on display in the folk instrument museum by the Acropolis.

Hi Nikos,
I'm going to Thessaloniki next month,
I would like to know how much it coasts and most of all how it sounds!
I need an audio file, any body can post an audio file here?
Thanks a lot guys,

Ihab

Hello Ihab

As i said unfortunately (for me) im not the owner of this beautiful lavta.I had only the chance to see it as he started constructing it and just after it was finished so it was like a birth of a baby :)
You can contact Tasos for more details through his website http://www.theodorakis.name/

And have a nice time in Thessaloniki.
