In this video

Charbel Rouhana is using an oud which seems to have some special gear in the back of neck. That looks like some kind of knob.
I suppose this is for adjusting the neck height.
Is there anyone who knows about this?

Charbel's oud is made by the Lebanese oud maker Fadi Matta.

In this video you can see Fadi Matta explaining about his proprietary design of the system you're describing

Older ouds had only one knob to adjust the angle of the neck in order to change the action and avoid neck warping with time. Newer models have now two knobs.. the second for better stability of the neck. Maybe Oud Freak and Katakofka kan explain it better.

So you can now have a oud with variable action, which will change the sound according to your taste without affecting the tuning or the string tension.

You can see some pictures of Matta ouds with this system

And also some explanation in this thread

Thank you, Reda Aoud.
I understood it fully.
I am impressed with not only the great sound quality but also this device.
Perhaps I will order his oud.
