Can somebody give me a rough idea of when the eleventh string was added to ouds? I am coming from more of a Turkish oud perspective, but any help is
appreciated. I know I have read this material somewhere else, but I can't find it.
I have seen original Turkish ouds from the 50's and 60's with 12 slots in the peg box. Was a double bass string ever common on Turkish
ouds? The tension on the oud would seem to be terribly high. Thanks again for everything.
