Finger Picking

I was wondering if there are many people that do a "fingerstyle" approach to playing?... I noticed that Salman Shukur uses this technique sometimes and just wondered if there were others... it definately has more of a Classical guitar/Flamenco feel... the Salman tracks on Mike's rare page are beautiful...
I also wasn't sure if this was kind of a Taboo style when it comes to Ud purists... I would be interested in knowing of other players that use a Finger technique as well...

Hi,

Dr. Munir Nurettin Beken uses this style on his solo CD. Lots of players have used this, there's no such thing as taboo really.

Take care,

I do it and basically it's a simple finger picking compared to lute or guitar techniques. Munir Bashir used it and some of his compositions have some parts that alternate between finger and risha in a tempo that few master.

Best wishes
